Chapter Three
The Perfection of Divine Love
In the course of His most precious teaching of the Sermon on the Mount, Lord Jesus said,
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father who is in Heaven is perfect. (KJV Matthew 5: 48)
But what does it mean to be as perfect as God? Consider how God showered His attention and artistic talent even upon the smallest of His creations. Look at a butter y that lives for only two or three days— how intricately beautiful are its wings! At the same time, He bestows the same attention on the planets and stars. His perfection is beyond imagination. Observe how abundantly the sun bestows its rays on all—those who praise it and those who curse it. It never selectively withdraws its rays. See how the sandalwood tree emits the most aromatic fragrances
