National Black Family Day
Black Family Day will take place on the first Sunday on May, May 2, 2020 from 11:00 AM – 2:00
PM in Dallas,Texas. The location for this year’s event is the Hackberry Creek Country Club located
at 1901 W Royal Lane, Irving, Texas 75063.
This annual event has become a time of celebration for our chapter. It is a family gathering
celebration for our youth and teens. The chapter wide event includes the entire family as we
recognize seniors, and bridge over the youth from various grade groups.
The senior’s celebration has become a key part of the event. The graduating seniors are celebrated as
they prepare to go off to college and are presented with a small token of our support and love as they
prepare to enter a new phase in their lives. All graduating moms are also presented with a small token
of appreciation.
Each teen presents a farewell message and encouraging thought to their parents, chapter and fellow
Jack and Jill friends. All tables will be decorated with memorabilia from their respective colleges and
everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite college/university shirt. The Fathers’ Auxiliary will
participate by moderating a panel discussion from recent graduates on the transition to college and
give wisdom to assist with preparation for their upcoming careers.
