Back to School Fair

City of Dallas Mayor’s Back to School Fair on August 1-2, 2019 at Centennial Building at Fair Park

The Dallas Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated continued its strong tradition of
nd
volunteering at the annual Dallas Mayor’s Back to School event. The event was held on August 2
from 7:00 AM– 4:00 PM at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas. The event provides school supplies, back to
school health and dental screening and books to children in need.

The Dallas Chapter teens assist with event set up the day prior to the event (August 1st, 201 1:00 PM
– 4:00 PM) and then are on site volunteering throughout the day. They assisted with directing the
families to the various give away stations, handing out supplies and sorting book for the Book Give
Away. Teen learned the importance of caring and giving back within your community to other youth.

Legislative Education

The Dallas chapter has provided several age appropriate programming for children in regards to
legislative education.

Get Out the Vote

On September 29, Dallas chapter young teens collaborated with chapter mom Monica Purdy to get
folks attending the State Fair of Texas registered to vote and sign her campaign petition. The kids
learned about the voting process.
