The Dallas Chapter will integrate oratorical opportunities throughout the Program year. The start of this
initiative occurred with the Carole Robertson/September picnic held in September 2019. Each age group
participated in recognizing and reviewing the impact of Carole’s death in history and how events such as this
shape our current freedoms.
The Senior Teens are incorporating their oratorical skills in their monthly teen meetings and grade group
activities. The teens participated in a cultural dialogue and exchange at Big Thought in Dallas, TX. Each team
was given the opportunity to address the group and share a culturally meaningful experience.
Black family day will routinely feature as younger Jack and Jill members in tributes to the graduating seniors.
Jack and Jill National Day of Service/ MLK Day Day
The Dallas chapter of Jack and Jill, Inc, will spend the MLK Day holiday patriating in the City of
Dallas LK Day Parade After the parade all age groups will participate in community service
activities as indicated in the age group activity reports. Younger kids will participate in craft service
projects to donate to children in need. The teens will participate in service projects related to Teen
Homelessness with Promise House.
Homeless Youth In Dallas County Are Largely Female, African-American. More than half of homeless youth
surveyed in Dallas County were female. And more than half were African-American.
