Pass the loop around the object to which it is to
be attached. (The loop in the photographis tied
with a water knot from page 92.)
Girth Hitch: Step 2
Bring one half of the loop through the other half
and tighten by pulling on the lower half. As you
tighten the hitch, work the knot that ties the
webbing or cord into a loop to the side of the
loop, not at the bottom where it could get in the
way.
