Method 525.1 is a general purpose method for the identification and simultaneous measurement of purgeable volatile organic compounds in
surface water, ground water, and drinking water in any treatment stage by capillary column gas chromatography/mass spectrometry.
EPA 500 Method 525.2 is a general purpose method applicable for the identification and measurement of organic compounds in source water, drinking
water in any stage of treatment as well as drinking water. This method can determine a wide range of organic compounds through using a
liquid phase extraction and capillary column gas chromatography and mass spectrometry method.
