Greetings to all stakeholders at Grulla Middle School! It is an exciting time of the year and I
would like to remind you that Grulla Middle School will continue to strive for amazing things to
continue happening this 2017-2018 school year. We will continue building on those gifts and
talents that our wonderful students possess and combined with the dedication and passion of our
teachers we will continue to move forward from Good, Better to Great! This year’s District
Theme is “Under Construction” Building a Brighter Future One Child at a Time.

I invite you, the Grulla Crane Community to come along on a journey of greatness and success.
The journey we embark on this year will surely have some sharp curves, steep hills, and straight
but narrow paths but we surely won’t turn back. As Grulla Middle School Cranes we will soar
forward until we reach our destiny, our DREAM of being GREAT. We will surely learn from
our past to work on our future as we strive to accomplish GREATNESS! Our dream is to move
forward and promote a culture of excellence for our students, teachers and our community. Let
us begin constructing our dream of taking our children from GOOD to GREAT! Dream it and
remember that it all starts with a dream, don’t lose sight of that dream, and begin constructing it
with a passion until we reach our destiny.

Grulla Middle School has always maintained a reputation as a great place to be. “Believe It”, not
only is it known as the place to be, but it possesses the greatest teachers our students deserve.
Teachers, always remember that you are a difference maker in each of the young minds placed
under our care. Even the smallest gesture you initiate to welcome our students tells them that you
have a vested interest in their life, what an impact that has on them. Throughout this upcoming
year you will have opportunities to instill a sense of confidence where it may never had existed;
generate a hope and a future for students whose journey towards success may have been
otherwise a journey of hopelessness. All of these are truly super powers you as a teacher possess.
Remind yourself constantly that you are destined to do great things at Grulla Middle School, and
that the only one that can stop you from taking our students from Good to GREAT is yourself. I
ask that you first and foremost believe in yourself and believe in your students.

Lastly, after you dream it, believe in yourselves and your students’ ability to do great things and
you will Achieve It. Achieving success requires us and our students to keep focused, keep strong,
be confident, humble, diligent, and a courageous head on our shoulders that is willing to keep
striving forward until they see amazing things happening. Taking our students from Good to
GREAT will take a lot of hard work, commitment, dedication and never, ever giving up on our
children.

In closing, I would like to let you know that your support is greatly appreciated and I look
forward to the 2017-2018 school year. IT’S GREAT TO BE A GRULLA CRANE!
