Welcome!
As your “new” Association Executive, the past 22 months have been full of tremendous achievement, empowerment
and growth for me professionally and for our association. Together with the support of the National Association of
REALTORS we changed our name and expanded our territory-not just for looks…but because it was needed to
reflect our growing member geography and to give a home to those brokerages who needed or wanted one. We are
expanding our programs to include partnership with Manfred RELOC to offer a 75-hour Real Estate Salesperson
Licensing (hybrid, online & in class) Class at our office, we are exploring the potential for a regional MLS system,
planning to launch an improved online event registration and member communication system and have also
successfully completed the first two re-certification processes of the NAR Core Standards Compliance. I should say, not all
associations were so lucky. Nationally, 18 lost their charters because of under performance or noncompliance with NAR requirements.
As we move into the third cycle of Core Standards which runs through Dec 31, 2017 you will continue to see changes in how our
association needs to further prioritize our consumer advocacy and outreach, our legislative pro-activity and our member engagement
and education. NAR is assisting local associations to position themselves and their REALTOR members into the next decade where
no doubt many, many changes will happen in the real estate industry. We need to be ready, we need to meet the challenges and we
will do that...together!
Sincerely yours,
Luisa Craige-Sherman
