On 15 January 2003, De Kersauson left
France on his yacht, the Geronimo. After
just six hours at sea, the Geronimo
suddenly slowed down. De Kersauson
didn't know why the yacht had slowed
down. He looked over the side of the
Geronimo, and saw a giant squid. It was
attacking his yacht! Fortunately, when De
Kersauson stopped the Geronimo, the
squid let go and swam away
