Very few giant squid have ever been seen.

Dead ones are sometimes caught in the nets

of fishing boats, or washed up on beaches. But

scientists have never been able to study a

living giant squid, and know very little about

them. However, they think that giant squid live

1,500 metres beneath the sea and eat big fish

and whales. Luckily for Olivier De Kersauson,

the giant squid that attacked his yacht wasn't

very hungry!
