With great pleasure, the Editorial Board presents the fourth issue of the journal.
This issue has eleven articles of contemporary bearing. Another matter of pride is
that the Adelaide Journal has been listed in the UGC approved Journals.

The opening article titled Psychological Empowerment of Dalit Women through
Kudumbashree programme, highlights how Kudumbashree has brought about
notable economic empowerment among women below poverty line and contributed
to the up scaling of their social position in the state of Kerala.

In the preceding article titled Criminal Justice Social Work – The Status and
Role of Professional Social Work in Correctional Institutions in India, the author
narrates how social workers’ enormous repertoires of skills are very much relevant
to the context of corrections due to the greater focus on the mental and physical
health care needs of individuals in conflict with the law.

Gender-based discrimination experienced by migrant construction workers in
Bengaluru city is studied to assess the need for social work interventions. The
authors have identified the need for social work interventions in unorganized sector
in general and with migrant workers in particular.
