RIVER ARTS, INC.
River Arts, Inc. presents and supports local artists across various mediums. Formed in 1997 to raise funds for the River Arts Center, a theater and gallery space at the Sauk Prairie High School, River Arts, Inc. has since expanded to include River Arts on Water, a retail gallery in Prairie du Sac. Over 100 events are hosted each year between these two locations, including concerts, exhibits, classes, and more. River Arts, Inc. is committed to bringing art

AUGUST DERLETH
Sauk City was home to one of Wisconsin’s most proli c writers and editors, August Derleth (1909-1971). Derleth wrote over 150 short stories and more than 100 books, exploring Wisconsin history, poetry, horror, fantasy, and many more. Derleth’s Sac Prairie Saga, a series intended to capture the essence of Wisconsin and its inhabitants, was awarded the prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship in 1938.
TRIPP HERITAGE MUSEUM
Built as a library in 1912, the "Tripp" Heritage Museum explores the people, places, and natural wonders of the Sauk Prairie area and is home to the Sauk Prairie Area Historical Society. Experience their local historical exhibits, one-of-a-kind displays, over 300 hundred mounted birds, hands-on children's activities, research materials, and the 7,000-year-old bison found by 7-year-old Joshua Bradford in the riverbed near the Prairie du Sac Dam. BADGER HISTORY MUSEUM
On the site of the former Badger Army Ammunition Plant, the Badger History Museum’s 1400 sq. ft. exhibit explores over 70 years of history of the Badger Ordinance Works (BOW). Learn about the BOW’s land acquisition, construction, and production during three wars. Explore the stories of the landowners who lost their homes and farms, see what they were paid for their land, and where they went. Visit Tuesday – Saturday from 10 – 4 pm. FREE.
FREE CONGREGATION OF SAUK COUNTY
The Free Congregation of Sauk County (1852) is the sole survivor of some  fty Freie Gemeinden (Free Societies/Congregations) founded in the U.S. in the mid to late-1800s. Today, they are a fellowship of the Unitarian-Universalist Association, meeting Sunday mornings at Park Hall, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. Sauk City-born architect Alfred Clas designed Park Hall in 1882, and later designed the Pabst mansion in Milwaukee.
HARRISBURG TROY HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Harrisburg School is one of the last remaining one-room school buildings in the county. Built in 1892, the school educated eight grades with one teacher and had an enrollment as high as 35. The museum exhibits historical articles, artifacts, and many original items. Open House dates can be found on their website at www.harrisburgtroyhistoricalsociety.com.
