Once the North won the war and Slavery was outlawed, Conservatives
still furious for not getting their way, The Confederacy planned to
kidnap President Lincoln and release him in exchange for Confederate
prisoners, but when President Lincoln gave a speech promoting voting
rights for blacks, a determined John Wilkes Booth wouldn’t accept it
and killed our President.
The Civil War was the worst tragedy in history and the South was
welcomed back into the Union with no punishment and the same rights
as those who remained loyal and true to their Country. President
Johnson took a lenient approach and saw the achievement of the main
war goals as realized in 1865, however, he was terribly mistaken.
After WW1, The US was recognized as a world power and Woodrow
Wilson’s second term is over, Conservatives will have full control and
the KKK is larger and stronger than ever.
This was a period whose ripple effects can still be felt to this day. A
period wherein; prohibition was the topic of conversation; the
reformation of the KKK in which up to four million members were
counted by the year 1924; the Immigration Act of 1924 was passed, this
act limited the number of people who would be admitted as immigrants;
and the birth of the Jazz age gave the youth of that decade something to
talk about.
