The STRENGTHS of this campaign are based on nearly 20 years of FDC’s development toward helping food-based service companies donate their surplus food items. FDC management comes from the food service industry and understands this industry with first hand knowledge. The FDC team provides its member clients a training program for staff, record keeping and organizational procedures, and tax benefits for their donations. Although food donation can be, and is, performed by individuals; FDC is the only organization that provides this type of services that will help food donors to be more efficient and save time, effort and resources in doing so.

The WEAKNESSES of this campaign are in the mind set of food service companies that donation of surplus foods is easy to accomplish and FDC services do not offer any benefits. This misperception can be changed with an approach thru the consumer, rather than the potential client. Once a member client is established, management must engage the passion of their staff for successful implementation and continuation of the program. It is important that FDC can show how the benefits of managed and organized donation services can save time, but more importantly money.
