Care Academy
Baxter Life Care ensures all their staff are trained to the highest
standards, However, when new staff arrive who have never been
carers before, they need to make sure these are trained to the same
standard as their existing staff.
Baxter life care do this by enrolling these new staff onto the care
academy course run by Baxter life Training in conjunction with the
awarding body CACHE.
The care academy completes the Preparing to work in Adult social
care- Level 2 course, which incorporates: Handling information,
personal development, communication, safeguarding, equality &
diversity, person centred care, health & safety, first-aid, moving &
handling of people, medication, conflict resolution & breakaway and
food hygiene.
This is carried out over a four-week period, then staff have to
complete a shadowing phase, to ensure they are happy to start
caring on a one to one bases.
