6 Tap and break dancing are typically done by individuals
performing for an audience. Folk dancing, on the other hand, is
usually performed by people dancing for themselves. When they
dance, most folk dancers wear special clothes, costumes that
represent their culture.
7 One of the best-known folk dances in Italy is called the
tarantella. A legend about the dance says that people bitten by
tarantula spiders danced fast and wildly to try to sweat the
poison out of their bodies.
