I’m more familiar with the shopping centers in Europe like, Velizy II, which is the largest one in
Europe, Les Quatre Temps shopping center in La defense near Paris, Forum des Halles, which
specializes in clothes and La Carrousel du Louvre a smaller up scale shopping center also in
Paris.

1. You want to give your employees a bonus for a job well done. You decided
to give them $ 300 worth of gift certificates at Forum de Halles Shopping
Center, so they could purchase themselves a new set of business attire and
shoes to make them look more effective for your company. One of your em-
ployees went out for shopping on that day.

Perfect! I’ll take all of these. Can I use a gift certificate on all of these? Ok, Thanks a lot! Bye! I’ll
be going to the cashier for payment. Thanks again.

2. You’re the manager of the Human Resource Department, and you noticed
that your computers are quite old and slow when you had your floor check-
ing. You talked to your Boss about your former request of new computers for
faster and easier work at HRD.

Sample answer:
Boss, I was able to figure out why my team has been failing to submit their reports on time. I
tried to check the floor this morning, and I’ve found out that the computers are quite old and
slow. They need to be upgraded or to be replaced with new ones that’s why I’ve given you my
proposal last week hoping you would consider it. I just want to know if we can purchase new
computers and notebooks for team leaders, so they could bring their work at home for faster
submission of reports. I’ve already checked out the price of the Sony Notebook which is worth
US$ 3038 and Macintosh PC worth US$ 3185. I saw those units at Gigabytes located at Fiesta
Inn Shopping Center in front of our building. It’s a perfect buy on a shopping center like this, Sir
because they have it on sale. Oh, you’re not kidding are you? What, my proposal was accepted,
and we can buy those at the department store in front of our building! I’m glad you’ve consider
the proposal! I’ll be going to the store once I have the budget for it. (At the department store)
Hello, it’s me again. Well, congratulate me because my boss approve the proposal of buying
additional computers. We can now buy the Macintosh PC as well as the Sony Notebook. Could
you help us out? Yes, it’s in cash. Here, I’ll be paying it now. Thanks a lot! I’m so excited for my
