Our beliefs are our
guiding principles.
The cultural beliefs at Varian are important because
they are the engine behind the vision, mission, and
brand. However, it is important to know that they
are far from prescriptive. You can also think of them
as principles.
Principles help to guide mindsets, behaviors, and
decisions because they are dynamic to everyone in
the organization.
Throughout this field guide we’ve simply given a
high level articulation of the beliefs and how they
might look through a general Varian lens. Defining
them for each and every person is impossible, which
is why we created these guidelines. Guidelines help
you define the beliefs for yourself, to share stories,
and to help evolve everyone’s thinking. In short, we
want you to make them your own.
