Kobe City U. of Foreign Studies

COURSES

Students attend the Kobe City University of Foreign
Studies as participants in the Japanese language
Program. This intensive language training is the
equivalent to more than a full year of Japanese
coursework at Augustana. Students enroll at the
appropriate level based on past study of Japanese
at Augustana.

Japanese 290: 12 credits for students who have
completed Japanese 103 on campus.

v Japanese 390: 12 credits for students who have
completed Japanese 203 on campus.

Students may also elect to engage in some 1-credit
opportunities, such as Kobe Culture courses at
KCUFS if they wish to earn more credits from the
program.

Unlike other exchange programs, students do not
transfer their Japanese credit back from Kobe.
The courses are Augustana courses and grades
are recorded for both JAPN
290 and 390 as if taken
on campus.

Housing is not included in the Augustana fees, but is arranged is also a design
through KCUFS and paid in Japan. Students live in an international and fashion hub.
