To Whom It May Concern: Re: Nikita Reece
Sunday, July 26, 2020
I am writing in support of Ms Nikita Reece’s application to undertake her doctoral studies at your
institution. I have come to know Nikita and her academic capabilities at Universitat Jaume I in
Castellon, Spain in October 2019 when she took my course on sustainable development and
the environment. She was one of the 7 Masters students in my class. The intensive course is
demanding and challenging for students as they are expected to cover a range of advanced
development and environmental theories and approaches in one month. Students are required
to attend three-hour seminars daily from Monday to Friday for three weeks and they are
expected to read at least 20 to 30 pages each day in preparation for class presentations and
discussions.
Nikita excelled in this class. She was diligent and highly motivated as evident in her enthusiastic
participation in class. She brought to these discussions her matured and critical reflections of
the issues covered in the reading material. Her comments were always measured and insightful.
Students were required to write a critical reflective paper daily focusing on the issues covered in
class and in the readings. Nikita’s reflective pieces were simply outstanding. She demonstrated
her superb critical and writing skills in the work she submitted for assessment. I was also
impressed with her creativity in her critical reflective and the way she expressed them. She has
a good command of the English language and speaks and writes coherently.
With her excellent academic skills, and her enthusiasm and motivation for further studies, I am certain that Nikita will be an outstanding doctoral student.
Sincerely,
