 8. OTHER INITIATIVES
28. CLARIFY THE CONSEQUENCES OF CANCELLATIONS
Last minute cancellations can have a devastating effect on MDS, due to the lost hours of planning and lost funding. However, among participants and families, there is a lack of awareness of these consequences. MDS can educate participants and families on the consequences of cancellations on the business. This message can be delivered when participants call to book their next appointment, or when participants plan their next visit at the end of their existing session.
29. SCALE THE CURRENT HOARDERS PROGRAM
MDS has a successful hoarder’s program which can be leveraged and rolled out further. This seems to be the only program of its kind in Australia and MDS has an opportunity to replicate this in other neighbourhoods and to the wider non-MDS community in general. This could also be a possible new revenue opportunity for MDS if they charge a nominal fee.
30. HOLD A GARAGE SALE FOR HOARDER’S BELONGINGS
Hold a garage sale for hoarder’s belongings as part of the Hoarders program. This will help hoarders' part with their belongings, give them some additional income while also increasing awareness of MDS and its hoarders program.
31. DEVELOP AN ADDITIONAL SKILLS PROGRAMS
Participants are constantly looking for new skills that can aid in their growth and development as well as provide them with meaningful employment opportunities. MDS can start additional skills programs similar to the Hoarder’s program which can provide their participants with additional skills such as Carpentry, IT, Gardening, Vegetable preparation, Art, cooking etc.
