The digital platform is designed to run idea campaigns over specific time periods so that the idea generation capacity of staff is leveraged to solve specific business challenges. And so that the solutions generated via staff ideas actually have the potential for tangible business impact. A software platform suitable for XXXXX P/L can be introduced.
The interactive nature of the platform drives collaboration across different business units and has the potential to form new communities around ideas and
solutions. Collaboration between diverse parts of the business leads to innovative ideas – collision of diverse ideas is a critical ingredient in innovation.
The transparent, centralised nature of the platform means that idea owners can see in real time the progression of their idea through the various stages of idea development and filtration during each campaign period. The transparency also incentivises idea owners because their ideas are visible to XXXXX P/L leadership and the platform therefore becomes an opportunity for executive recognition.
Idea Generation
1. Ideas follow a set process - The generation of innovative ideas at XXXXX P/L can be managed by an ideas platform.
2. The ideas platform releases regular idea ‘campaigns’ that have clear parameters within which ideas are sought
3. Individual staff members are the idea producers that drive the generation of ideas into the digital platform.
4. Ideas need to meet a basic set of criteria before they are able to be submitted. The standardised criteria form is contained within the platform and accessible to all.
Idea Filters
1. Ideas generated through the digital platform are first filtered by the manager and administrator of the idea program. Each idea is assessed against a standardized set of criteria
