The most comon plastics to be recycled are plastics 1 to 5 on the recycle table. Whereas
6, 7 and others are useualy incinerated for the production of energy. The UK goverment
is in the process of safely closing down the Nuclear energy plant in the midlands and
converting it into an incinerator that will dispose of all plastics 6, 7 and others for the
production of greener energy. We still need more recycling centers to recycle the very
high volume of plastics numbered 1 to 5.
The dramatic photographs of beaches full of washed up plastics do not come from a
single Joe Citizen throwing his empty Coke bottle in the sea because he cannot be
bothered to put it in the bin. It is dishonnest waste disposal contractors who are
just dumping boat loads of waste into the oceans. These are the people that those
goverments need to stop and begin to get behind all the recycling technology.
“If Covid 19 has taught us anything; it is that we can not
survive without single use plastics. It is not the manuacture
and use of plastics that need to stop but what happens to them
after their use. The only answer is for Governments around
the world to make sure that their waste disposal companies
stop dumpimg plastics in the oceans and start to build more
recylce centers and incnerators...” RAGE.
