PETER BELCHER

RAGE magazine would like to take the time to celebrate the life of Peter Belcher an industry
leader who spent over 40 years at Schwarzkopf Professional working his way up to become the
head of Schwarzkopf Professional in the UK and Ireland.

Peter was a very clever and successful business man who fully understood the mind of the
hairdresser and went out of his way to help and support so many names in the industry. Since

retiring in 2008 Peter stayed active in the industry co hosting The British Hairdressing Awards and
sat on the council of The Fellowship for British Hairdressing and The Hairdressing charity.

Peter’s warmth and sincerity was felt by the officers of Rage magazine. In 2011 we published the
first online magazine for hair colourists. Peter would always take the time meet with us and help us
make decisions regarding the magazines direction. Peter saw how digital magazines were going to
be the future. He suggested in his wisdom, art and high fashion publications the reader would
always prefer a hard copy which they can hold. However, even those magazines will produce a
    digital copy as well.

It was Peter who brought the salon products brand OSIS (Only Sold In Salons) to Schwarzkopf and

saw the concept of keeping this brand out of the dugstores and supermarkets was upheld. It has
been stated by others that Peter was a “True Gentleman” .I cannot think of a better description, he
was also always suave, a man about town frequently seen in the Ritz and Langhams.

Although Peter had such a high profile and busy career he never neglected his family and since his
retirement has managed to have two or free family holidays a year. When he spoke to us just last
week he said that he had just got over Covid and had booked a holiday in a couple of weeks for
    Christmas.

R.I.P. Peter we will miss all your very valuable advice, but most of all we will miss you. A truly
wonderful human being who spent every day trying to help others. A life to be truly celebrated. Our
thoughts and condolences go to your family at this difficult time.
