EMMA-LOUISE CANTWELL
Make-up artist Emma-Louise excelled in the creative subjects at school but wasn’t sure
where her talent would take her. Art was a particular favourite: ‘I would always spend ages
putting make-up on my portraits’ she says. After a careers advisor showed her details of
a make-up course at a nearby college, Emma-Louise signed up and began practising on
friends.
A spell of freelance work led to a full-time job at the Make-Up Bar, which would later
employ future business partner Christopher. As well as working with clients, Emma-Louise
quickly became indispensable to the business, helping with the day-to-day management of
the salon.
