We have found that you cannot expect a customer that is a corporate executive to come from his
                modern day office and mobile devices to your “quaint”1970s decorated store with fake wood
                paneling and rotary phones.

                For example, Jerry has a Linked-In Profile!   WHY?  Is he looking for a job? “NO.”  It’s
                because we noticed that the day after potential customers visited the marina, they looked to
                Linked-In for our social creditability.  Therefore, we match their expectations!

                It’s dangerous as a 50+ year old business, you can easily become complacent.  We make a real
                effort to stay up on technology.  We feel it’s important to communicate how our customers find
                easiest, not how we find easiest.

                That’s why we have an App.  Yes, an App for a boat yard!  Customers love telling us to launch
                their boat via our free app!  One customer said, “It was awesome, I used the app because I was
                on the bus after work… I popped open the app, pressed request launch, and because it was
                digital it was private, no one around me had the chance to listen to my conversation”  The app
                is one more choice for the customer to decide how to communicate with us.

                It’s just like the age old pricing debate for labor rate.  Here’s a different perspective, if your
                customers are attorneys and they’re billing out at $400 an hour, why on earth are you billing out
                your repair shop rate at $75?  Match their world.  If they just bought a $120,000 boat why are
                you charging $3,000 for a slip?  Learn to price for the value of the customer’s time, not for
                barely covering the taxes, insurance, and operational costs of the marina.

                Finally, we are located on a beautiful lake with the most
                incredible sunsets on the planet.  We have a facility of
                high energy “first time” job holders and we enjoy
                welcoming them to their first experience in the world of
                work!  Our involvement in the community helps give us
                roots and a purpose to continue.  We work hard to create                            Winter Sunset
                customers that want to be here year after year.  Many of
                our customers have been with us over 20 years.  We even
                have a dockage customer that has been in the same slip for
                26 years!  We are a one-stop shop for boating and we
                want you to stay for the life of your boating career.

                Here’s our biggest accomplishment:  We are not stuffy
                or pretentious, but we started from scratch and through
                constant evolution we have managed to become a marina
                leader that transcends boating to make our customers,
                crew, and colleagues feel like they’re part of the family.
