Causes of Water Pollution

Fertilizers

They are widely used in farming to enhance crop

yield. Farmers and agriculturalists use pesticides

to protect crops and plants from pests. However,

both fertilizers and pesticides are made up of

chemicals. So when rain falls on the crops, the

chemicals are carried in the rainwater to rivers

and lakes causes water pollution.
