The kaleidoscope of events in Šiauliai is colourful. The “Runway Run” in April, which has no analogues in the Baltic
states, is a “fight” between a man and a fighter plane. The brightest lights shine during the event “Šiaulių naktys”
(“Šiauliai Nights”). The city’s birthday “Šiaulių dienos” (“Šiauliai Days”) in September invites townspeople and guests
to open-air concerts. The International Folklore Festival “Saulės žiedas” (“The Flower of the Sun”), taking place
every two years, fills the city spaces with folk music and dances. The Chaimas Frenkelis’ Villa Summer Festival
has already found its listener who enjoys both the voices of Sakartvel men and opera arias, surrounded by rose
blossoms. “The Big Band Festival” shakes the city with the sound of trumpets in the summer.
