ŽAGARĖ PUPPET HOUSE
In the workshops taking place in The Puppet Ho-
use, you will create your own puppet, a mythical
creature souvenir, hear interesting stories about
Raktuvė mound, Žvelgaitis hill, ancient gods, wit-
ches, their talismans and signs. Scarecrows have
their own home in Žagarė – “Scarecrow factory”
in the homestead of folk artist Aušra Petrauskienė
on the bank of the river Švėtė.

SAMOGITIAN EVENING PARTY
Samogitians have long been famous for their
customs, songs, music, and language. Probably
Samogitia distinguishes itself from other regions
most by its hospitality and merry-making. There-
fore, evening parties were particularly popular in
Samogitia.
During the educational session, everyone is in-
vited to participate in a real Samogitian evening
party, when various stories, legends, fun events
are told, games are played, circle dances, dan-
ces take place, songs are sung, folk instruments
are played, Samogitian kastinys (sour cream and
butter blend) with potatoes and Samogitian gira
(fermented bread drink) are tasted.

THE DOLOMITE ROAD
Dolomite is the gold of Pakruojis land. The same
rock constituting the magnificent dolomite Alps in
Austria and Italy is mined in Pakruojis district. We
invite you to come to “The Coal Burning Cottage”
at the approaches to Pakruojis Manor and travel
along “The Dolomite Road”. During the educati-
onal session, you will be able to touch the most
different varieties of the dolomite stone and get
acquainted with its properties. There is a possibi-
lity to buy a souvenir from dolomite ir even make
it yourself!
