Madison Edwards,
daughter of Jason and
Alison Edwards of Green-
ville, Alabama, graduate
in 2019 from Georgiana
School with a 4 0 GPA
She currently attends the
University of Alabama
where she is majoring in
Nursing
While in high school,
Madison achieved A
Honor Roll status, received the Governor’s Physi-
cal Fitness Award and Student Citizenship Award,
was a delegate to Alabama Girls State and
Pioneer Youth Tour, participated in Distinguished
Young Woman, and she was chosen to meet
Governor Kay Ivey She participated in Mu Alpha
Theta, was a member of the Math Team and
Health Occupations Students of America, all at
the same time that she was enrolled as a “Duel
Enrollment Student ” While at college, Madison
has been on the Dean’s List, worked as a stu-
dent worker, is the president of Future Alumni for
Traditions and Excellent, a member of Capstone
Association of Nursing Students, and a member of
New Beginnings Young Adult, all while maintain-
ing a 3 5 GPA
Madison’s High School Chemistry teacher
said, “Madison is an extremely pleasant and posi-
tive person She consistently achieves excellence
in all she attempts ” The Membership Coordinator
for the University of Alabama National Alumni As-
sociation said, “Madison works along side of me
to create campus partnerships and collaborate
on events for the students She regularly speaks
to students, parents, and alumni about giving a
gift to the association She has shown determina-
tion, organization, and commitment in every task
assigned to her ”
Madison said that even though the Uni-
versity of Alabama is three hours from home, she
is excited about attending and was honored to
have been accepted in the Capstone College
of Nursing She went on to say, “I am very strong
in my faith and prayed day and night about the
decisions facing college God revealed to me
at that exact moment that I had made the right
decision.”■

Jackson Edwards, son
of Jason and

in 2019 from Georgiana
School with a 3 98 GPA
He currently attends the
University of Alabama at
Birmingham where he is
majoring in Kinesiology
While in high school,
Jackson was a member
of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta,
Math Team and FACTS Club He was also part
of the Georgiana School Baseball Team where
he was Team Captain for three years Jackson
still found time to work for J&J Lawn Care in his
spare time While in college, Jackson has been
on the Dean’s List, President’s List, part of Honors
College, on the UAB Sports Marketing Team, in-
volved in Campus Ministry, and a member of the
Pre-Physical Therapy Society, all while maintaining
a 3 93 GPA
Jackson’s Student Pastor said, “Jackson
has been an integral part of the student ministry
at Southside Baptist Church and was a leader
in our all student worship band having been the
lead drummer for four years He is an outstanding
young man that embodies service and leader-
ship ” Jackson’s Advisor and future PT Instructor
said, “Jackson has challenged himself with an ac-
ademically rigorous undergraduate degree that
speaks volumes to his maturity and time manage-
ment abilities all while developing his personal
leadership skills with service to the community ”
Jackson said that his future plans include
obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology
then enrolling in Physical Therapy school to get
his Doctorate He hopes to one day open his own
practice Jackson knows this is a tough path, but
is determined and willing to work hard to obtain
his ultimate goal.■
