As many of you have already seen, Pastors Joey Jernigan, Warren Johnson, and Rich Peterson are working really well together as our Transitional Leadership Team. They’re collaborating with our other pastors and administrative staff on a number of important initiatives this fall, including launching a wonderful array of small groups, enhancing Next Generation ministry spaces and programs, and organizing a number of mission trips in 2018-2019. On Sunday mornings, Rich, Warren, and Joey recently led us through a wonderful sermon series: Marks of a Great Church. If you missed any of those sermons, they’re all online at bvchurch.org.
As the deacons turn to the task of seeking God’s guidance on the future leadership of Bear Valley, we’ve been taking some time to reflect on what makes Bear Valley special...a special place to worship, grow, learn, and serve. We believe that this an important starting place as we move toward a search for our next lead pastor. We’ll have more updates in the coming months about this, so please be in prayer as we continue working through this process.
Because personal stories are so powerful, the Deacons would like to ask: What makes Bear Valley special for you? Whether you’ve been here for one month or for many years, everyone calls BVC “home” for a reason. We’d love to know what makes Bear Valley special to you. Please feel free to share your thoughts with us at deacons@bvchurch.org.
Lastly, please pray about how God might be calling you to serve in some way at Bear Valley. God gives each of us unique gifts to use in serving one another and building up the Body of Christ. If you need some ideas, our pastors can help you explore ways to serve that are just right for you.
We look forward in great anticipation to what God is going to do in the days ahead in our lives and through our church to reach our community and world with the Good News of Jesus!
