 Connection Points
September 2018
As we look ahead to what lies on the horizon for Bear Valley Church and our ministries to children and students, we want to share some important changes that we believe will help us better put into action one of the core values that we seek to embody as a NextGen team: fighting for families. This core value means that we want to make it as easy as possible for parents to say “Yes!” to NextGen opportunities that we provide, and it recognizes that we get to partner together with parents to make disciples of Jesus
Fall Mid-Week Gatherings
This fall, we will begin implementing a mid- week gathering for Elementary though High School students that will take place on the same night. There will be five different Tuesday night gatherings when the Elementary, Middle School, and High School ministries will share our facility to allow for a single night of mid-week ministry opportunities. We have scheduled the following dates as the soft launch of our mid-week NextGen gatherings: October 9, October 23, November 6, November 27, & December 4. Dinner will be provided for the kids and students, and during these weeks, High School and Middle School will continue meeting from 6:30-8:30p, while Elementary will meet from 6:30-8:15p.
On these nights we will be offering mid- week opportunities for all kids and students
from Kindergargten-12th Grade. We will be gathering throughout the building, and we will be communicating a detailed schedule for each individual ministry in the weeks leading up to October 9th.
The soft launch this Fall will help us determine what does and does not work for the mid-week schedule, especially since we will have all of the kids and students in the building on the same night. We will evaluate after each of these five mid-week gatherings, so we can make the necessary tweaks that will help each mid-week gathering go as smoothly as possible from check-in to worship to small groups to check-out.
We want to make it as easy as possible for parents to say “Yes!” to NextGen opportunities that we provide.
In light of this, we are asking you to provide three things to our NextGen team. First, we are asking for patience. The first few combined mid-week ministry nights may be a little hectic as we sort through what works, what doesn’t work, and what needs to be tweaked. This is why we have built in evaluation periods to help us improve. Our goal is to provide noticeable improvements
