 Connection Points
September 2018
Have you ever wanted to be involved in international missions but don’t have a PASSPORT?
No worries, I want you to know about a couple of great INTERNATIONAL mission opportunities that you can be a part of and never have to leave Colorado!
InterFACE Ministries
Terry, Trudy, and Teah Thompson our local missionaries working with international students at the School of Mines are offering the following International Missions Opportunity:
We are in need of 3-4 people who would be interested in going with us for an Aspen Tree Viewing Trip near Idaho Springs on September 29th from 12-7 p.m.
If additional people than the van drivers are helping to make conversation (both asking questions and being good listeners), it more than doubles the value of the experience for the internationals and also allows them to see what God’s people are really like, many of them for the first time. We are planning on making five stops to take pictures (one at a lake, stream, and a couple of lookouts, etc., so there would be
about 7-8 blocks of walking involved). We might even need a couple of people to drive their own cars depending on how big the group is (drivers must be 25 years old or older, and I'm sorry, we cannot accommodate animals). We won’t know for sure if we will need extra drivers at this time because the student signup deadline is still a little over a week away.
If anyone is interested, please contact the Thompsons (terry-trudy@comcast.net) or Rich Peterson (rpeterson@bvchurch.org or 303-731-4330) by September 16th.

Friendship Partner Program
Bear Valley Missions is hosting a lunch/ training event this coming Sunday afternoon, September 16 from 12:15p-2:15p in Room 205/206 where you can learn about becoming a friend to a person from another country and extend to them the love of Christ. The lunch/training will help you to relate one-on-one with an international student from the Auraria campus and help them feel at home while they are in the United States. Sunday’s event does not lock you in, but will give you all that you need to connect.
Some of the valuable things you will learn in connecting with an International Student
