DI - 108 Diagnosis - Diagnosis-fault diagnosis of electronic and electrical parts

Basic inspection

In case of not confirming the fault via DTC check, check and analyze all the circuits possible to cause the
fault.
1. Check the battery voltage

Warning
When the engine stops or the ignition switch is at LOCK, perform this inspection

Check whether the voltage of battery is normal.

Check the result
Result Go to

24V or above Next step

Lower than 24V Replace the battery or charge the battery
2. Check the fuse

Check whether ABS fuse F02 of instrument panel fuse box is normal.
Check the result

Result Go to

Molten fuse Replace it with the same specification of fuse (15A).

3. Check the fault indicator lamp of ABS.

Turn the ignition switch from “LOCK” to “ON”, and check whether ABS fault indicator lamp is normal.
Check the result

ABS fault indicator lamp fails to go on. In case of performing Refer to “Chapter DI Diagnosis-Diagnosis of Body Electric
the full brake test at 30km/h, observe it for skid marks. Fault-ABS Fault, Fault Symptom Table”.
If any clear rolling mark or interrupted skid mark, it indicates
the normality of ABS. If its skid marks are clear and continual,
it indicates the failure of ABS system.

4. Check the connection of ABS system wires.

Check ABSECU, speed sensor and solenoid valve harness for reliable connection, their surfaces for breakage
and terminals for corrosion or rusting.
Check the result

Result Go to

Broken harness, insecure connection or terminal rusting Repair the corresponding terminal or harness.
