62-396 DIAGNOSIS-LIGHTING SYSTEM

Symptom description：
Switch on, the step lamp at one side doesn't turn on, other side is normal.
△ PROMPT：
Take the driver door step lamp as an example, check other step lamps with the same
method.

Diagnosis Procedure

1. Check step lamp bulb

(a). Check if the driver door step lamp connector is loose and falling off.
(b). Remove the driver door step lamp bulb.

(c). Connect the positive and negative
electrode of bulb into the positive
and negative electrode of the battery,
respectively to check if the bulb will light
up.

Is the result normal?
Yes>To step 2.
No >Replace the bulb.

2. Check driver door lamp switch

(a). Disconnect driver door lamp switch connector D01.

(b). Check driver door lamp switch.
Standard resistance:

Connect by Standard
Condition
multimeter value
Vehicle door D01(1) - Disconnect
OFF Grounding

D01(1) -
Vehicle door ON ≤ 2 Ω
Grounding

Is the result normal?
Yes>To step 3.
No >Replace the driver door lamp switch.
