stored in the fault memory. The trouble lamp will goes out after circle of three
failure-free mode.
(c). When the system is in trouble.
• When the ignition switch is set to "ON" position, trouble lamp will always be light.
• If the failure of EFI system disappears, trouble lamp automatically goes out in the
next running circle.
5. Diagnostic instructions
(a). Electronically controlled engine failure is not necessarily the problem of EFI system.
(b). In most cases, the failure is still mechanical and fuel line failures the same as
conventional engines, and the experience of repairer is important.
(c). If the trouble lamp is not lighted, maintainer should mainly check the mechanical
failure.
(d). The lighting of trouble lamp indicates some failures in EFI system. At the moment,
maintainer can read fault code for repair work.
(e). Person who has not received a professional training isn’t allowed to repair it and
should informed career man to maintain as soon as possible.
(f). The basic knowledge of diagnosis that maintenance personnel need to master
including conventional engine failure diagnosis, operational principle of common rail
system, the engine wiring harness, control strategies and so on.
