DIAGNOSTICS - ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM 04-485
INTAKE MANIFOLD PRESSURE (BOOST) IS BELOW NORMAL
Fault phenomenon Diagnosis logic Possible reasons
• Intake system • Intake system fault
• Turbocharger system • Turbocharger system fault
• EGR system • EGR system fault
Intake manifold pressure 04
• Intake manifold (boost) • Intake manifold (boost)
(boost) is below normal
pressure sensor pressure sensor fault
• Exhaust system • Exhaust system fault
• ECM • ECM fault
Diagnosis Procedure
1 . Check the engine data
(a) Ignition switch: OFF.
(b) Connect the diagnosis tool with the fault diagnosis connector (16 pins) on the lower
left of the dashboard.
(c) Ignition switch: ON, and start the diagnostic tool.
(d) Read the motor data shown on the diagnostic tool.
Check whether the data flow is normal or not.
YES>To step 2.
No >Maintenance related faults.
2 . Check the intake system
(a) Check whether air filter is blocked.
(b) Check whether pipe of the intake system leaks.
(c) Check whether turbocharger can work properly.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>To step 3.
No >Maintenance related faults.
3 . Check turbocharger system
(a) Check whether turbocharger can work properly.
(b) Check whether intercooler blocks up or leaks.
(c) Check whether the pipeline of turbocharger system has aging or leakage.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>To step 4.
No >Maintenance related faults.
4 . Check the exhaust system
(a) Check whether the exhaust system has phenomenon of block, leakage and so on.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>To step 5.
