DIAGNOSTICS - TRANSFER GEAR 04-555

Diagnostic steps

1 . Check fuse

(a) Ignition Switch: ON.
(b) Check whether the fuse of fuse box: F11(60A), F36(10A) is fusing or not.
Check whether the result is normal?

Yes> go to step 2

No> replace fuse

2 . Check mode select switch C039 power supply circuit.

(a) Ignition Switch: ON.
(b) Disconnect mode select switch connector
C039.
(c) Use multimeter to measure the voltage
between pin 9 of mode select switch C039
connector and the ground connection.

C039 (9) - ground Battery voltage

Check whether the result is normal?
Yes> go to step 3
No> if there is no battery voltage at pin 9 of C039 connector of mode select switch,
repair the open circuit between Fuse F36 (10A) and pin 9 of C039 connector of the
mode select switch.

3 . Check the power supply ground connection of mode select switch

(a) Ignition Switch: OFF.
(b) Use multimeter to measure the voltage
between pin 8 of C039 connector of mode
select switch and the ground connection.

Standard electrical resistance (check
whether there existent an open circuit)

Multimeter connection Standard value

C039 (8)- ground ≤ 2 Ω
