LUBRICATION - CRANKSHAFT FRONT OIL SEAL 18-13

CRANKSHAFT FRONT OIL SEAL

REPLACEMENT
1 . Drain the engine oil. (Refer to "Chapter 05 Vehicle maintenance - Replacement,
engine oil replacement")
2 . Remove crankshaft pulley. (Refer to "Chapter 15 Engine Mechanical - Flywheel,
flywheel housing, cylinder block, crankshaft ")

3 . Remove the crankshaft front oil seal with
a tool.
CAUTION

• Replace the crankshaft front oil seal.

4 . Install the crankshaft front oil seal with a
tool, and mount the new crankshaft front
oil seal in place.
CAUTION

• Before installation, apply a thin layer of
butter to the lip of the crankshaft front oil
seal.
• When installing, the plane of the
crankshaft front oil seal must be flush with
its surrounding edges.

5 . Fit the crankshaft pulley. (Refer to "Chapter 15 Engine Mechanical - Flywheel,
flywheel housing, cylinder block, crankshaft, overhaul(MT/AT) ")
6 . Fill up the engine oil. (Refer to "Chapter 05 Vehicle maintenance - Replacement,
engine oil replacement")

CAUTION

• After installation, drive to check whether there is oil leakage in the oil seal.
