35-8 BRAKE - BRAKE PEDAL

3 . Check the Free Travel of the Brake Pedal
(a) Switch off the engine and press the pedal
several times until the vacuum booster is no
longer vacuum.

(b) Measure the distance L by pressing down the
brake pedal by hand until you feel resistance.
(c) The value of the distance L is the free travel
of the brake pedal.
Standard: 10mm

4 . Adjust the Free Travel of the Brake Pedal

(a) Switch off all electrical units and ignition and
disconnect the negative battery cable.
(b) Disconnect the brake switch connector.

(c) Unscrew the locking nut of the brake switch
and rotate the nut, until the free travel meets
the required value.
(d) Tighten the locking nut of the brake switch.
Torque: 18±2mm
