Diagnostic steps

1 . Check passengers’ air bag assembly (passengers’ air bag assembly-ground)

(a) Confirm the ignition switch is closed, and disconnect the negative pole of the battery
for more than 90 seconds.
(b) Disconnect Passengers’ air bag assembly connector C030.

(c) Disconnect SRS control module connector
C016.

(d) Measure the electrical resistance based on
the value in the following form.

Standard resistance (check whether there
is short circuit)

Multimeter connection Standard value
C030 (1)— ground
≥ 1 MΩ
C030 (2)— ground

Check whether the result is normal?

Yes> go to step 2
No> Replace passengers’ air bag assembly.

2 . Check the harness (Passengers’ air bag assembly-SRS control module)

(a) Disconnect Passengers’ air bag assembly connector C030.
