           Description
1 . The engine control module (ECM) uses an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve
position sensor to determine whether the EGR valve conforms to the instruction
position. The ECM supplies 5 volts to the EGR valve position signal circuit, then
the EGR valve position sensor outputs a voltage signal to the ECM according
to the position of the valve. ECM converts this signal to a percentage from 0%
to 100%, indicating the position of the valve. The valve is fully opened, equivalent
                  to 100%.
