In a year when we broke records for Capital Campaign fundraising and Annual Fund giving, it is worth celebrating every child, parent, guardian, grandparent, alumnus, and friend who gave everything they could to carry our school to greater possibilities.
Your contributions help provide
nancial assistance to approxi- mately 22% of our families.
Presidio Hill School has a remarkable history of community involvement and connections and we are happy to re- port on the remarkable resurgence of that energy during the 2015–16 school year. In a year when we broke records for Capital Campaign fundraising and Annual Fund giving, it is worth cele- brating every child, parent, guardian, grandparent, alumnus/a, and friend who gave everything they could to car- ry our school to greater possibilities.
It began in late August and early September 2015, when new families arrived ready and willing to place the School on their collective shoulders by o ering over $750,000 in new con- tributions to our Capital Campaign. Their gifts, along with the extraordi- nary commitments of returning par- ents, guardians, grandparents, alumni, and friends opened the doors at 233 Maple Street in April, allowing the campus to e ectively double in size.
The more than $6 million raised thus far has given students in grades TK–2 new classrooms and spaces for
imaginations to amble, while a new library and preliminary lower school yard allow students to bond, play, collaborate, and cooperate in spaces more conducive to exploration. We look forward to continuing to work with the Board and the community to inspire investment in future capital projects that ensure that PHS’ build- ings and grounds is a place where children can permanently fall in love with learning.
The Annual Fund had similarly marked success, seeing $334,203 in contribu- tions from 90% of our parent/guard- ian body and reaching a record 78% before the halfway mark of the school year. PHS students raised an incredible $43,061 through Walkathon, while the Spring Fling/Auction raised $108,618.
We are immensely grateful to (and proud of) the community for taking up the charge to invest in PHS. As a result, the School is robust and its future is even brighter.
