Abstract
At the present time, Thai Temples abroad have played an important role as a center or net-work
for Buddhists and Thai laborers working in foreign countries. The temples are an anchor and meeting
place of the Thai workers when performing Buddhist Ceremonies, including the propagation of Buddhism

both theoretically and in practice. Thai temples are of great im-portance to Thai laborers as they also
help maintain harmony in relationships and within the family. As mentioned, the Thai temples in Taiwan
have also played a role in what is important for a good quality of life for Thai laborers in Taiwan in 3

aspects: 1. It is a center of gathering of Thai people for the mental Spirit 2. It is a Community service
center for cooperation be-tween Thai workers and government agencies. 3. It is a way of Maintaining the
Thai identity, conserving Thai traditions, Thai cultures and the days of importance in Thailand. It is said

that Thai Temples are a very important part of life for Thai workers working in Taiwan and can guide them
to happiness of life both physically and mentally.

บทคัดย่อ
บทบาทวัดไทยในต่างประเทศเป็นศูนย์กลางของพุทธศาสนิกชนและแรงงานชาวไทย เป็นจุดยึดใจและรวมกลุ่ม

พบปะของแรงงานไทย วัดไทยในต่างประเทศมีบทบาท เป็นศูนย์กลางในการเผยแผ่พุทธศาสนาภาคทฤษฎีและภาคปฏิบัติ วัด
ไทยจึงเป็นแหล่งเชื่อมสังคมแรงงานไทย ความผูกพัน ความกลมเกลียวเป็นเหมือน ครอบครัว วัดจึงเป็นศูนย์รวมใจของกลุ่ม
แรงงานไทยที่ท างานอยู่ในไต้หวัน บทบาทวัดจึงมีความส าคัญต่อคุณภาพชีวิตแรงงานไทยในไต้หวัน 3 ด้าน ได้แก่ 1.ด้านการ

ร่วมกลุ่มและเสริมแรงใจ คือ การร่วมกลุ่มของแรงงานไทยในไต้หวันและการเสริมพลังอ านาจเชิงบวกให้แก่แรงงานไทยใน
ไต้หวัน 2.ด้านการบริการสังคม คือ การสงเคราะห์ด้วยสิ่งของและประสานงานระหว่างแรงงานไทยกับหน่วยงานราชการ 3.
ด้านการรักษาอัตลักษณ์ความเป็นไทย คือ การอนุรักษ์ประเพณี วัฒนธรรมและวันส าคัญของไทย เสริมศักยภาพและทุนทาง

สังคมเชิงบวกให้แรงงานไทยในไต้หวัน ให้มีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดี มีสิทธิ มีความเท่าเทียมและความเป็นธรรม บทบาทวัดจึงเป็นทุน
ทางสังคม ระหว่างชีวิตการท างานและชีวิตส่วนตัวของแรงงานไทยในไต้หวัน มีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีด้วย กาย จิต สังคมและปัญญา
จากทุนทางสังคมเดียวกัน เพื่อประโยชน์ต่อคุณภาพชีวิตแรงงานไทยโดยเท่าเทียมกัน
