design process

1. consultation + creative direction

· As we begin the design process, we will start with a half hour phone or video call to get on the
same page and discuss your needs and crea�ve vision. There is no charge to the client for this session.

· A 50% deposit is required to begin the design. The remainder is to be paid in full before the final
files are delivered. Deposit must be received within one week of our consultation, or the client will lose
precedence and delay is certain.
· Next, the client will provide visual and/or written expression to support the formulation of the design.
Examples include, making a mood board (Pinterest is great for this) of the photos, colors and feel of your desired
outcome. The more information you can provide, the more fluid and swiftly the design process will flow.

2. concept development + sketches
· As your designer, I will fuse all of the information you have provided into 3-5 loose concept sketches
for you to choose from.
· Next, the client will choose (1) or a combination of multiple elements from the provided concepts.
This typically takes about 1-2 weeks from the initial consultation for the client to decide on a concept from
what has been provided.

3. refinement
· At this stage, the concept of the design has been approved and clarified. I will provide a slightly more
refined version of the initial concept sketch, and follow up with more and more refined versions over the following
days / weeks.

· In your base rate, there are (3) refinements that will be provided. (We will go back and forth up to three
times at this stage of the design and make minor adjustments). Anything beyond the three refinements, including
major changes to the concept at this halfway point will be billed hourly.

4. completion

· Your completed and approved design will be provided to you in all possible file types you may need for
its application on the web or in print. You will also be provided a very handy, “When to use what” outline so you
know exactly what the file types are for.

· You will receive both a black and white, as well as a color version of your design, unless otherwise
agreed upon. It is my pleasure to create multiple color versions of your design, but additional color options will be
billed hourly.

Time

Time is our most precious commodity.
I take immense care with your design project, and have
immense respect for your time, as well as my own.
With that said, I will do my best to deliver your high
quality design in a timely manner. Every project is
different, but typically can be completed in 3-4 weeks,
depending on complexity. You will be notified about
your projected timeline from the beginning.
I honor your time, and I ask that you honor
mine as well, in terms of responding to inquiries and
emails during our design process. Being aware and
respectful of each other’s time will help create a
delightful creative exchange. Thank you in advance!
