Realtors are often asked how much value renovations will add to a
home. The Appraisal Institute of Canada surveyed several hundred of if
s members for their 1999 Renovations and Home Value Survey.
Questions covered which projects off the most in dollar value return,
the amount of payback homeowners might expect, as well as renovation
trends. Results indicate the best returns are still on projects such as
kitchen and bathroom renovations, as well as cosmetic changes both
inside and out of the home.
