Mamma Pod is a garment that allows the mother to carry the neonate securely between her breasts in intimate
skin-to-skin contact, providing essential care, warmth & support. It allows the mother to move about freely in a
hands-free mode and perform her daily activities while providing KMC. The design of the garment also allows her
to express milk, thus maximising the duration of KMC.
- Development stage- Indian Patent has been filed (*Patent No. 3948/DEL/2015).
- Clinical trials at Neo natal ICU AIIMS are ongoing.

The ergonomic design of Mamma Pod reduces the fatigue of
carrying the baby for longer periods. It snugly supports the baby
from 3 sides while allowing the mother to be ambulant. She can
even sleep while giving KMC. The baby pouch adjusts to
accommodate the size of the growing baby. Size of the outer
jacket can be adjusted by the mother as per her preference.
