Electric vehicles have multiple advantages advantages over internal combustion engine based vehicles -vis a). Low
running cost b) Low maintenance cost c) Instant torque generation d) Single speed transmission. These advantages
make EVs very suitable for commercial vehicle , where return on investment is the major factor influencing buying
decision. Current, three wheeled commercial electric vehicles (E-Rickshaws) have witnessed good adoption from the
market, owing to decent earning potential and low cost. But there are many complaints too -vis a) Development of
fatigue cracks b) Absence of enclosed driver and passenger cabin c) Low battery life d) Long charging time. Volt arrow
has been designed to overcome these shortcomings.
