Pada tahun 2020, seramai 250,505 orang pelawat telah melawat ke lapan destinasi ekopelancongan
Jabatan. Jumlah pelawat ke kawasan ekopelancongan menunjukkan penurunan jumlah pelawat
seramai 299,223 (54.43%) orang berbanding dengan tahun sebelumnya. Penurunan bilangan pelawat
dalam tahun 2020 adalah disebabkan oleh Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP) oleh pihak Kerajaan
semasa penularan wabak Covid-19 yang melanda seluruh Negara. Penutupan kelapan-lapan pusat
ekopelancongan Jabatan akibat daripada penularan wabak tersebut telah menjejaskan jumlah
kehadiran pelawat ke pusat ekpelancongan tersebut.

Pusat Konservasi Gajah Kebangsaan (PKGK) merupakan kawasan ekopelancongan Jabatan yang
paling ramai dilawati untuk pelawat tempatan & antarabangsa. Pelawat PKGK adalah seramai 100,525
orang (iaitu 40% pelawat dari jumlah keseluruhan lapan lokasi ekopelancongan Jabatan) dalam tahun
2020.

In 2020, a total of 250,505 tourists visited the Department’s eight ecotourism sites. The number of
visitors to ecotourism sites had decreased to 299,223 (54.43%) people compared to the amount from
the previous year. The decline in the number of visitors in 2020 was due to the Movement Control
Order (MCO) imposed by the Government during the event of the Covid-19 pandemic that affected the
whole country. The closure of the eight ecotourism sites as a result of the outbreak had impacted the
number of visitors to the ecotourism sites.

The National Elephant Conservation Centre (NECC) was the most popular ecotourism site for both
local & international visitors. The total numbers of NECC’s visitors were 100,525 people (40% out of the
total number of 8 ecotourism sites) for the year 2020.
