As the name suggests, the water bowline is designed for use
in wet conditions where other knots may slip or jam. It is a
very secure loop because the knot is formed using a clove
hitch, which puts the working end through a doubled loop.
Unlike most other knots, the water bowline will not change
dramatically when underwater. BowlInes and Bends

both loops in turn.

Tighten the bowline first
and then the lower half
hitch until the two knots
sit snugly together.
